Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes! Simply call: 925-676-1909

Can I accompany my pet to the exam room?

Yes! However, we follow the state and Federal requirements regarding COVID, as they are ever-changing. We encourage you to strengthen the communication among your family, your pet, and our professional group here at Hillcrest. We require a mask and take all the cleaning precautions recommended by the CDC.

Do you offer veterinary dental exams and treatment?
Yes, Hillcrest offers this highly specialized service. Appropriate dental care throughout the life of your pet provides many benefits in preventing other kinds of disease—just as it does in humans! Ask us for details.
If my pet needs surgery or hospitalization, what is Hillcrest’s procedure?
After careful evaluation, Dr. Anderson, Dr. Rensink, Dr. Tutko will meet with you to discuss the diagnosis and advise you on options for the best care of your pet. We clearly explain what happens, answer all your questions, and provide an estimate.
I know you treat dogs and cats. What other pets do you care for?
We also treat pocket pets, such as hamsters, guinea pigs and rats, as well as rabbits.
Do you treat birds or reptiles at Hillcrest?

No, but we’re happy to refer you to a veterinarian in the Bay Area.

Why does veterinary care seem expensive?

Experienced veterinary medical care requires ever-improving, continuously updated equipment and materials. Hillcrest’s Veterinarians undergo no less than 50 additional hours of updated training annually to remain at the top of their fields and provide continuing education for their veterinary team to have the most updated information. Also, Hillcrest is an accredited American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) member known for its strict standards and regulations.
